Tetiana Nechai (Malenka) is an Iranist, philologist, literary critic, poet.
Tetiana was born on August 15th, 1959 in the town of Yahotyn, the Kyiv Region. She graduated from the Department of Philology of Kyiv State University named after T. G. Shevchenko. Tetiana worked as a researcher at the National Museum of Literature of Ukraine (Kyiv). In 1986-1988, she lived in Tajikistan, in the city of Dushanbe, where she studied the Tajik language and literature, worked in the national board of the Book Lovers Society.
In 1993–1998, Tetiana worked at the Institute of Oriental Studies named after A. Yu. Krymskiy of the National Academy of Sciences as a research associate. Since 1994, she has been working at Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University: associate professor, head of the Middle East Department of the Institute of Philology (2001–2017), director of the Center for Iranian Studies (2002–2015).
Interned as an Iranian philologist in 1991–1992 at Tajik State University (Dushanbe, Tajikistan); 1996–1997 at Tehran State University (Tehran, Iran). In 2015, Tetiana interned and gave lectures at the Department of the Persian Language and Literature of Ataturk University (Erzurum, Turkey) as part of the Mavlyan International Exchange Program of the Ministry of Education and Culture of Turkey.
Tetiana published her own poems in literary almanacs and magazines. She has three poetry collections.
Participant of international poetry festivals, performed on Tajik, Iranian, Ukrainian radio and television; participant of the artistic and scientific forum „Muses are not silent“.
